This represents the initial phase of a comprehensive two-stage development project for Highworth Skips, focusing primarily on streamlining the customer-facing ordering system. Our objective is to optimise the skip ordering process whilst ensuring all essential company documentation requirements are fulfilled seamlessly.

The company requires customers to understand permitted and prohibited waste materials for skip disposal. We've implemented an intelligent JavaScript-powered form system that manages two distinct backend databases: prohibited items and surcharged materials. The ordering platform dynamically filters these lists, providing real-time updates including additional forms for surcharged items such as fridges and freezers, alongside immediate alerts for forbidden waste materials.

Here is an example of the logic used, Fridge is entered and an additional form is shown asking how many of the item and a prohibited item is also entered showing the alert which also does not allow you to continue to the next page until you have removed the item from the form.

The final stage is just a review of the order before adding to the cart and continuing through the WooCommerce payment process.

Once the customer has completed their payment, all details captured during the ordering process are seamlessly integrated into our heavily customised WooCommerce order management system. We'll explore this comprehensive system in greater detail in our upcoming blog post covering stage two of our process.

The order information is automatically transferred to generate the mandatory Waste Transfer Licence—a crucial legal document required for every skip hire transaction. Additionally, our integrated calendar system provides drivers with real-time visibility of their daily delivery and collection schedules, ensuring efficient route planning and timely service delivery.
